Mary Beth Rainey
Mary Beth is the Lead Floral Designer at the shop. Often referred to as a Floral Artist by her customers, she smiles when she hears it. While Mary Beth did work part time designing centerpieces and wedding flowers for an event planner in Tremont, she has no formal flower training. She credits her ability to create such unique and beautiful arrangements to God. A woman of Christian faith, she sees His hand in all she does with Heartfelt Florals. Curious? Ask her, as she loves to talk about how she got started! Mary Beth also credits her parents for her passion for floral design. In fact, her mom, Ethel, joins her on occasion in the studio and has been known to design an arrangement here and there. Fun fact, customers are unable to tell their work apart! Her dad, Bill "Bunker" Rainey loved growing flowers in his garden and Ethel took floral design classes when Mary Beth was a teen. She'd watch and listen to both as they grew, clipped and created with flowers in her childhood home. The mutual love for flowers remains today. In fact, "Bunker's Bud Vases" are in honor of her dad, currently living with late stage Alzheimer's in a dementia unit nearby. He loves to be surrounded by a lot of little flowers. They make him feel great. No surprise there. The Heartfelt Florals STUDIO, is a unique floral and retail space combined with a casual gathering space for “hands-on” creating with flowers. Knowing all the scientific studies that show the great benefits of having fresh flowers around, Mary Beth wants to encourage others to become more aware so they can reap the benefits. The best way to do this is to involve people in the multi-sensory process; this might be choosing flowers for a bouquet at a studio party with friends, or perhaps creating an arrangement at one of the many workshops the studio offers. In doing so, they are likely to increase their “happy hormones” and overall levels of comfort and contentment while decreasing blood pressure, anxiety and feelings of depression. As a former educator, she is a firm believer in the old saying,
“Tell me and I will forget.
Show me and I may remember.
Involve me and I will understand forever.”
We encourage everyone to purchase at least one party or workshop, invite family or friends and see how quickly they’ll become comfortable AND confident around flowers. At Heartfelt Florals we know very well that the true beauty of flowers is not just their pretty exterior, rather…what it does for our hearts and souls! While the flower workshops and parties are in Mentor, residents in Willoughby, Concord, Painesville, Kirtland, and surrounding areas are all encouraged to attend. Floral deliveries are also available to most Lake County Communities.
Heartfelt Florals STUDIO is conveniently located at 7541 Mentor Avenue, in the Colonial Plaza Office Building, in Mentor. We are on/in the lower level. Studio A109.
There are two ways to enter:
1) At the plaza level, we are on the right end between Gomez Shoes and H&R Block. Look for our sign on the door and if it is locked, ring the bell or text us and we will come let you in. NOTE: There is a set of stairs at this entrance.
2) Easiest way to enter, is to pull around the right (East) side of the building. Park in back and come through the door labeled 7541. Look for our signs and come down the inside hall to Suite A109, at the bottom of the stairs.
